Immersion Program Kadiri University and Karnavati University 2025

11 Aug, 2025

The Kadiri University Immersion Program to Karnavati University, Gandhinagar, India, is a strategic initiative implemented within the framework of an official collaboration between Kadiri University and its international partner, Karnavati University. Under the direct auspices of ONIA (Only Indonesian Language and Language Association) at Kadiri University, this program is part of an effort to expand its international network and implement the university's vision of producing globally competitive graduates. This activity is designed to provide a comprehensive international experience through classroom learning, cultural interaction, and exploring the academic environment abroad.

This program aims to create a reciprocal value chain in which both universities can actively exchange specialised expertise while enhancing collective institutional capacity.

In an era of disruption in higher education, collaboration between institutions is key to developing globally competitive human resources. Karnavati University and Kadiri University initiated the immersion program in response to three key challenges: (1) the gap between academic theory and industry needs, (2) the lack of cross-cultural experience among students, and (3) the untapped potential for collaborative applied research. This program is designed as a symbiotic platform where both universities complement each other's strengths.

Before the program, ONIA and the Language Centre of Kadiri University held a briefing for the Immersion Program participants. The briefing included speaking, writing, listening, and cross-cultural understanding. The immersion program ran from Thursday, July 30, 2025, to Wednesday, August 6, 2025, with most activities taking place at Karnavati University, India.

Five Kadiri University students participated: three from the management program, one from the public sector accounting program, and one from the industrial engineering program. Two Kadiri University lecturers also mentored them.

Implementing the Kadiri University Immersion Program at Karnavati University, Gandhinagar, India, marked a significant milestone in strengthening international academic networks and enriching students' horizons through cross-cultural experiences. The program successfully combined academic learning, cultural interaction, and industry visits, providing a learning experience relevant to the demands of the global era. This strategic collaboration between the two universities expanded the network and significantly contributed to the development of student and lecturer competencies in both academic and non-academic fields. Throughout the program, participants have the opportunity to adapt to diverse educational, social, and professional environments. Interaction with the local community, learning in international classrooms, and participating in cultural and industrial activities are practical tools for fostering mutual respect, tolerance, and cross-cultural communication skills. Challenges such as language differences and social customs are met with collaboration, ultimately strengthening students' self-confidence and adaptability in navigating global dynamics.
