The Master of Law Program, Faculty of Law, Universitas Kadiri, in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, organized an international Lecturer Exchange Program with the theme:

“Harmonization in ASEAN Policies: Cooperation in Law, Economics, and Policy for ASEAN Countries.”

This program is an important step in strengthening international academic networks and improving the quality of global learning. It provides a valuable opportunity for lecturers and students from both institutions to exchange knowledge, ideas, and academic experiences, particularly in law, economics, and public policy. These fields play an important role in supporting cooperation and integration among ASEAN countries.

The program featured two distinguished speakers: Assoc. Prof. Rohani MD Shah, Associate Professor at the Department of Law, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, and Dr. Mas Rara T. R. H., S.H., M.Hum., lecturer in the Law Program at Universitas Kadiri.

During the program, the speakers discussed several important issues, including policy harmonization in ASEAN, international legal cooperation, regional economic integration, and the challenges and opportunities of implementing public policies in a rapidly changing global environment. These discussions helped participants better understand how ASEAN countries can work together to develop more effective, consistent, and inclusive policies.

The participation of an international lecturer from Universiti Teknologi MARA brought valuable global perspectives to the learning process. Students gained broader knowledge about legal practices, regulations, and policy developments in ASEAN countries. These insights can also serve as useful references for future academic studies and research.

In addition, the Lecturer Exchange Program supports the achievement of Indonesia’s Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (Indikator Kinerja Utama or IKU), particularly in expanding international partnerships, improving learning quality, and creating opportunities for joint research and academic publications.

Through this collaboration, students are expected to gain a more comprehensive and globally oriented learning experience. Lecturers also have the opportunity to improve their academic competence, exchange good teaching practices, and build stronger professional networks with international partners.

This Lecturer Exchange Program reflects the commitment of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Kadiri, to developing excellent, adaptive, and globally competitive education and research. It is also expected to open further opportunities for sustainable collaboration between Universitas Kadiri and Universiti Teknologi MARA in the future.
