
Cross-Cultural Internship 2024
The Kadiri University Cooperation Unit has completed the "Cross-Cultural Internship 2024" event, which was held on Friday, September 29, 2024, at the LBC (Centre for Cultural Studies) at Trunojoyo University, Madura. This event was held to implement the collaboration between Kadiri University and Trunojoyo University, Madura.
The Cross-Cultural Internship 2024 is an activity held by Trunojoyo University, Madura, involving international students as participants in activities related to introducing Indonesian culture to international students. On this occasion, the international students were students from Palacky University, Olomouc, Czech Republic. To provide this material, speakers from Kadiri University were invited to provide material on traditional foods. This event was held offline. Therefore, two speakers and their teams were delegated from Kadiri University. The two speakers were Dr. Pamadya Vitasmoro, S.Pd.., M.Pd.., and Mr. Muhammad Maftukhan, M.Hum.
Before getting to the main topic, which was traditional food in Kediri, the first speaker presented a presentation on the city's tourist attractions and traditional arts. Some of the attractions introduced were Mount Kelud, Selomangleng Cave, and Simpang Lima Gumul. Other attractions included Jaranan, Cambuk Tiban, Pencak Dor, Jemblung, and the Kethek Ogleng Dance. After receiving a fairly in-depth explanation of Kediri's tourist attractions and traditional arts, the two speakers continued their presentation, introducing Kediri's signature dishes, Pecel Tumpang and Gethuk Pisang. The presentation became even more engaging when the speakers also brought several other local dishes for the participants to try.
Participants were very enthusiastic about the event. They actively interacted with the speakers, demonstrating their interest in the material. They also shared their feedback after sampling some of the Kediri specialities presented by the speakers. Overall, the event, attended by the speakers and the team from Kadiri University, proceeded smoothly.
